We had Heckard Doors replace our front door, Barry and assistant were very professional, the door looks great so we decided to change all the old closet door and again the work was done in timely manner and best of all very clean. BUYER BEWARE! After being strung along for several years, Barry Heckard left us exhausted and with problematic doors. To this day our glass remains fogged. and there are structural issues with the doors. The glass went bad after three months. Mr Heckard was never willing to abide by his own warranty and correct the issue. He actually suggested we say THER SERENITY PRAYER! We were fraudulently charged for a permit which was never pulled. The whole project was a very costly nightmare! Barry- It's never too late to do THE RIGHT THING!

I previously purchased a solid mahogany door that I decided to have Barry of Heckard Doors, LLC install as the new front door of my home. Having some construction background, the door installation was complex and required a high degree of skill, experience and craftmanship. Mr. Heckard and his crew did and excellent job and I am very pleased with the installation.

Beware! We decided to go with Barry because we wanted to get the doors installed prior to moving in, Barry promised us it would be a quick and painless process and he said it could be done within 2 months. We provided a down payment first week of December 2018 of over $10,000 for 4 French doors. Barry told my family and I that the job would be completed by end of January.

When that time came, Barry said there were delays and that they would be ready mid February. At the Feb deadline, Barry once again stated there were delays and that the doors would be ready March 11. By March 11, Barry stated there were delays again and continued to blame suppliers without providing us proof or evidence of what was going on. Every time we asked questions, he was always very vague and tried to avoid the questions.

The final promised date to us was April 11. By April 11, Barry stated two of the doors were discontinued by the supplier. So it took Barry 4 months to find out the doors were discontinued by the suppliers!? I spoke with Barry's staff when he wasn't in the office one day and the staff confirmed that no parts were ordered for us until 2/19. So it took almost 3 months after we provided deposit for Barry to order our parts!?

This whole thing has been extremely stressful for my family and I. He clearly spent our down payment back in December. I am now speaking with the police, BBB, and my lawyer. There's a reason why there's numerous one star reviews on google. He must be pulling the same moves with people all over Gainesville.

Be careful, do not deal with this company. Barry besides being rude is the worst professional in the world. they are dishonest. I bought a front door with this guys to my new house for 8,000 (overprice) and never received it. I have my house ready to move but without the front door. I have contacted them several times but always the same excuse. Do not believe in this company, run them. if I could give 0 stars I'll give but the google minimum stars is 1 star. Again, run away from this company or you will be bad.

I strongly urge caution when dealing with this company. They were well past their proposed installation date when our doors were finally delivered, and they still haven't finished. This May is a year since first signing a contract with them - which is when we were told that the work would be completed in full by September (2018). We feel fortunate in that we eventually had our doors delivered and installed.

They are 90% completed with the work but can't seem to finish the remaining 10%. Further, their work has never been inspected by the county even though they charged us an inflated fee for the inspection.

I can not say enough about Heckard's Doors. They were prompt on providing a quote and gave me an excellent price on replacing our sliding glass door with new french doors. The team doing the installation arrived on time, were very professional and courteous. They did a great job of keeping everything neat and clean and even went above and beyond on the installation to make sure the doors opened flat against the outside wall.

This was very important to me and even though it took them extra work to find the best way to give me what I wanted they did it! I have worked with many contractors before and this was by far my best experience yet! My new french doors look amazing! Thank you Barry.

Heckard's Door Specialist came so highly recommended for their custom craftsmanship. We can see why! Barry and his team did an amazing job at giving the house a completely different look with a breathtaking curb appeal. In addition they replaced our dated sliding glass doors with re-tractable folding doors going into our lanai and pool area. The ability to open this entire area was a perfect upgrade that gave our intracoastal view a whole new look. It's gorgeous! Thank you Heckard's Door Company for a good well done!

After moving into a house near the beach which was new construction but a bank foreclosure, all sets of large double hurricane proof glass doors leading to decks had issues closing and locking. Barry and his team removed all double door sets (17), replaced the frames and also replaced the front door. All work was done in a professional manner and with very high quality.

Even requested follow up visits for minor adjustments were completed in a timely and professional manner. Fast forward 5 years. After an inspection prior to pending sale, several plates and hinges had to be replaced/installed due to erosion or failure to install by the builder. Again, even though it took several visits, both the quality of the work and the follow up by Barry were superb.

He is relentless in his pursuit of customer satisfaction and I very much appreciate his attention to detail. These are heavy, triple pane hurricane rated doors and his excellent workers knew exactly what they were doing. I highly recommend Heckard's Doors for any specialty door work. Thanks Barry!
