How losing a job prompted-and inspired-Kevin McCann to start McCann Window and Exteriors more than 30 years ago. I fell into the window industry by happenstance. I was a young adult and worked in everything from a lumber yard to concrete installation to landscape design. Although I had jobs, I didn't have a career path-until my parents decided to move to Wisconsin.
I was born and raised on the south side of Chicago, and I received my college degree from Mundelein College. Later, I moved up to the North Shore, met my gorgeous wife, and raised three spirited, incredible boys. My interests include: going to White Sox games, playing tennis, golfing (patiently), and more recently, boxing.
We include pertinent others in our business decisions, in order to give ourselves, our business, and our customers the greatest chance of success. We stand up for ourselves, our business, and what we believe to be right, in order to protect our company and our customers. Kevin McCann was extremely knowledgeable and complete in helping to decide on the scope and details of the project.

We replaced the remaining 18 original windows in our home with Kevin McCann and his team. They did an excellent job matching the character of our 1920's home while bringing the insulation, safety, convenience, and aesthetics up to modern day. Their installation team was kind and professional. They carry the very best brands like Marvin and have rigorous standards when it comes to installation quality.
There was minor stickiness in the locking mechanism of two of the windows that I never would have noticed, but the team spotted this and asked Marvin to come out and replace the mechanisms just to be sure they functioned as best as possible. Would absolutely use this team again in a heartbeat.

We had a superb experience with McCann Windows at every step in our window replacement project. Kevin McCann was extremely helpful and never pressuring in responding to multiple inquiries during our decision making process. McCann's installation team, including Mike and Vitaly on our project, was beyond exceptional: they did a thorough and polished job and generally treated my home as their own.
I expected this project to come out well but anticipated that it might be somewhat painful just because of the scope of the work that was needed. It actually turned out to be a pleasant process, with a very beautiful result!

Starting in 2013 I began replacing all 12 of my townhome windows and finished in 2019. I have an end unit so twice the number of windows as most. McCann did a very nice job on the Bid, Measurement and Installation. Eight yrs later I am still very happy with my Alside Windows. I love to hire local, dependable businesses provided they offer a good product at a good value.
Very pleased with the McCann team and the quality of the product. I did have to call back once for a "sticky" window and a crank that would not function and they called the manufacturer out who replaced the crank on the spot and lubed up the sticky window - both good as new. They stand behind their product - which speaks volumes to me! Thanks McCann!

We received a quote on siding, sent in the deposit, they cashed the check. About a month and half later the sent someone out for measurements. The next day we had ComEd calling telling us the point of entry of the electricirty needs to replaced. So we contracted with an electrician to get it done. The electrician was trying to coordinate with electrician, ComEd and McCann do get the work done. McCann then decided they did not want the job and left us out to dry after months. Use someone else.

McCann replaced all of our windows in our last home and again in our current home. Almost 20 years later, one of the windows is loosing it's seal. The manufacturer is no longer in business, Kevin McCann contacted a glass company who came out and measured and installed the insulated lowE glass replacement. I appreciate their response. I have enjoyed doing business with McCann for more than a decade and recently contacted them again because I needed to replace front and back storm doors. Their service orientation is extraordinary. Kevin came out for an estimate quickly and walked me through choices. Between estimate and installation, the office kept me thoroughly informed about the progress of the order and expected date of installation.
And the best part were the installers and their workmanship. They stayed and tweaked each door until installations and performance were top-notch. McCann is one of the local tradesmen I most look forward to dealing with.

I was trying to get a quote from them for work on fixing a gutter spout that was cracked and leaking at my home. I was referred to Chris and when I called him, he was extremely rude in telling me he "was very busy right now". I asked what the wait time was and he said "many weeks" and I said I was willing to wait and he kept telling me he was "very very busy and wasn't able to help me" and wouldn't even set up an appointment or ask that I call at a later date.
I called the main company phone number again and she told me that he was the ONLY person in their company that could help me and if I wanted, she could refer a handy man to help me fix it. While I understand that everyone has a busy season, it was completely rude to not even attempt to make an appointment or try to help me. I will not be using their services for my gutters (as they are apparently too busy for anyone right now) and will not be calling them in the future for my window and door replacements either.

Fri, May 17, 2019 4:29 PM (3 days ago) McCann Window and Exteriors was a winner from the start. Everyone I spoke to on the phone was knowledgeable and reassuring. I saw a sample of the windows I was having installed, careful measurements were taken and all of my questions were answered. I had a fabulous install. First of all, the day was perfect which helps when you are having windows replaced.
The team was right on time and fabulous. They worked quickly and did a great job of cleaning up afterward and they came well supplied with lots of mats to minimize any dust and dirt. The men were very helpful, offered help in moving furniture back in place, and even hung elevator mats for me and took them down. I highly recommend McCann Window and Exteriors. Ellen C.

We were so impressed with the service from McCann. From the personable attention of Kevin McCann to the great crew who installed to the fine, friendly office staff (Liz and Annette)--all of these people went above and beyond what was necessary to make this window project as seamless as possible. An extra shout out to Liz and Brian who actually took the time to retrieve (from a dumpster no less!) a part from my old windows that I needed.
Obviously lots of customer attention and just so nice! So thank you to this great group of people who make window replacement a breeze. I would recommend them to my family and all my friends and never give it a second thought! Go Team McCann!
