Installed shutters several years ago in the Bahamas. Used all summer long ( hurricane season) which is from June till we come back in December. Easy to take down and put up. Luckily we haven't had any real bad storms. We lose some velcro fasteners now and then. John was great to deal with.

We purchased our materials this month and they arrived quickly and in excellent condition. Our shutters were cut and installed in 2 days on 14 windows by our handyman. We installed the slider and all the CAPS by ourselves with no difficulty. John Smith was a true pleasure to work with. He responded to any email or text quickly, and often called to be sure things were going ok.

We truly appreciated all the "extras" included in the purchase price. My husband and I hope we never need to test our StormStoppers, but have complete confidence in them if we do. Best of all, at 72 and 74, we know we can put up every cover by ourselves. Howard and Patricia Veltz Bradenton, Florida

Maybe one of the rudest interactions I've had with a business. Inquired about storm shutters. Searched google for storm shutters and their name popped up with decent reviews somehow. Asked if they did aluminum shutters, on the phone said no and rudely said I needed to go to the website before calling. It would have been awesome if he simply said we don't sell that but an alternative method is our approach.

I just want to protect my windows ands doors simply. Maybe an educational moment. Crazy to me someone would be that short to an incoming lead. I'm excited to take my business elsewhere.

Although the product seems promising, the customer service and level of professionalism needs work. Please do yourself a favor and research Florida Product Approval. This lists exterior Impact Protective Systems for use in high wind velocity zones (Florida) that are designed/approved by registered engineers and verified through testing procedures and third party agencies.

Storm Stoppers is not listed. There's a reason why Lowe's/Home Depot will only market products labeled as "Hurricane Protection" if they have the Florida Product Approval Number, and why they don't label Plywood as "Hurricane Protection".

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! I asked for a quote and needed just the panels and not the fasteners or anything but they said they didn't sell the panels by themselves and that's fine so I asked for another quote for the entire package but John Smith (the president of the company) called me and said he was "confused" and then started to rant at me saying that there was plenty of other companies that sell just the panels and that I should save my money by buying from one of them.

Then he continued ranting about the fasteners and such but he was getting louder and louder so I said "bye" and hung up so I didn't have to deal with it. Later I got an email stating that I had thrown a "temper tantrum" and that he implied that he would ignore any requests for anything else. During the call I literally said two words, I said "ok" when he introduced himself when I answered the call and then "bye" when I hung up.

Apparently John Smith is easily confused and then he places blame on the customer when in actuality the blame lies with him. He has bad customer service practices and if you buy from him be very careful in dealing with him. Just as an added point, they may sell you too much product. A friend of mine purchased storm stoppers from John Smith and he was sold enough product to cover his house and three-quarters of mine. Be careful that he doesn't oversell you and waste your money because they are very expensive.

John worked with us on measurements and cost. We postponed the decision several times and yet every time we contacted John to pursue the shutter option again, he was professional and pleasant. We did not want the DIY option so John came out personally and re-measured each window, cut the shutters and then went over each window with us to make sure we understood how to install them. Fortunately we have not needed to use the shutters in a storm but we are confident our windows will be protected if they are ever needed.

John is a true professional! I bought a house with Storm Stoppers which was not maintained (well past the seven year life of the fasteners), but surived both Huirricane Matthew and Irma. I called for a tune-up. John arrived, got right to work and let me help change out all the fasteners to my house. Took about 3 hours and now I know how to do the tune-up myself.

This product is awesome. It takes longer to pull the panels out of my garage than it does to install. The panels are light, when compared to plywood or regular metal storm shutters. It lets light in so you house does not look like a cave like standard shutters. I have 145 mph windows and Storm Stoppers provides an extra level of protection and peace of mind and allows first responders access to you home if there is an fire or other issue during or after the storm.

A great alternative to plywood. I just wish the Shutter Industry and Plywood mafia would acknowledge that Sotrm Stoppers is just as viable as much more expensive and difficult to install plywood and metal shutters for insurance purposes.but the reduction in your wind storm is paltry compared to the return on investment for installing Storm Stoppers!

This company offers a very good product in the shutters and supplies they provide. I contacted the company on in September 3rd and had my shutters at my door on September 6. The owner was so busy filling orders around the central Florida region due to Cat 5 hurricane Irma. That being said everytime I called he picked up and or returned my calls. He answered all my questions and even gave me some tips on how to install the shutters. I recommend this company and thier product.

We experienced two hurricanes and recently decided to install Storm Stopper window coverings. So easy to put up compared to plywood. I had worried that if my husband were away I wouldn't be able to put up plywood, but now with the Storm Stoppers, I can easily put these up myself. John is very conscientious and gave us great service. This is a small company and I imagine during hurricane season he has a hard time keeping up with demand, but we are 100% satisfied with the service and product.
