I purchased a door for 1200 and they had to send a tech out twice this was about 3 years ago but the door was never right and the tech I'm my opinion could do the work so I had an emergency the door wouldn't open called a small outfit 40 years experienced independent he fixed realigned the door right and now the keys turns perfect my fault for not doing my due dillengence the first time the due out Condo building but as a resident I'm going to talk to my Association manager tonight I want then to use a differnt company for if they can fix my door right and them can we trust them with our building

Glad they were able to come out so soon to fix my mailbox lock! This is who I call when I need my doors re-keyed.

I called Suburban Door Check & Lock Services today after scheduling with a competitor and reliazing that my Emteck Lock was in need of servicing. Ben called and came within an hour and he had our lock operating again and even leveled out the door to make sure it met the lock properly. I will definatley use them again. So glad I looked on Emtecks site to determine who sold my busilder our lovely Emteck locks! Ben even lubricated teh frint door too. I will always use them for my lock service.

Shop local shop small business BUT don't shop with these money hungry smart pants. Got done for $6 at Home Depot instead $75 these rude guys tried to cheat for.

I called Suburban Lock on Monday and they came out the very next morning. Mark was an absolute joy to work with. He's been a locksmith for 21 years and was very knowledgeable. I was amazed at how quickly and efficiently he was able to get the recore done. Absolutely outstanding. I'd highly recommend using them.

I mean I'm giving this 4 stars based solely on the gentleman that helped me while there. And I'm using the term helped loosely as he really just tried to find a blank to work with the lock I had lost a key for. I asked what they could do since I still was locked out of the item I was trying to get into, basically he said I could go home and drill the lock out.

I mean in my mind, that's why I would come to your shop. I don't have the foggiest idea how to drill locks and put tumblers in. I ended up going down the street to Goldy locks where they also couldn't find a blank, but promptly drilled out the lock, and installed new tumblers. Simple as that.

Suburban Lock went above and beyond for me. Prior to even making an appointment an employee (Ryan) corresponded with me about my issue and was even gracious when I considered using a different company. In the end I went with Suburban Lock because of their professionalism, kindness, and knowledge. David did our installation and did an amazing job. He went the extra mile for us and we will definitely be using this company in the future for all our needs. You should too!

Mark installed our front door electronic Schlage lock; he was knowledgeable, friendly and a perfectionist. He arrived on time and the company provided him with antique brass back plates to match the color of the lock I ordered and sent them a picture of beforehand. This was all accomplished in a very short time from my call to them. I would definitely recommend these folks; they might not be the cheapest (vs do it yourself) but Mark's experience and work ethic made it worth it.

I had an odd situation where my detached garage door was broken - inoperable and unopenable - and I do not have a side/service door. I called Suburban Lock and they had a technician at my house within a half hour. My technician, Johnny, went above and beyond. Not only did he figure out how to use the tiny keyhole at the top of my garage door that pulls out to release the door, he then spent a good amount of time trying to help me figure out how/why the garage door was not working.

He spent far more time than need be helping me - not to mention the weather was single digits. Very appreciative of Johnny, his work ethic, and Suburban Locks customer service.

Suburban Lock is a good quality company, flexible and reasonably priced. Responsive and thorough. I manage a small commercial building in River North and they treated us as if we were a big account. Tony the sales contact fixed a stubborn entry latch with WD40 when he was there to see the job. (that latch not part of the job) Clint the service tech was instrumental in making sure our needs were met by double checking the work order with me regarding insuring we got the results we expected. He did more than read his work order and do the work. Saved the day.

Great company to work with. Moved into a new home with old-school Baldwin locks. They came out and re-keyed both doors and cut 6 keys on the spot for a very fair price. Highly recommend!

Careful-will not give returns, this is against company policy. Brought bad lock in then they said made key was bad. Then brought in original key & they even tried to say that was the wrong key. Then said if we bought a new one it would perform the same - even though the new one they showed us worked fine compared to the returned one. This place is like a bad car dealership

Poor service here - the customer is always wrong is their motto. They go to imaginary manager and come back with excuses on why they cannot accept return within warranty period.

Larry and his employees (Tom D) are truly amazing! I called for service in the morning and less than a half hour Tom was out and opened the door on my garage within 5 minutes. Not only was Tom helpful but he was so sweet and happy. I will only use Suburban in the future (well hopefully not - no offense) but if I need a locksmith this is the only company I will ever use.

I typically do not leave reviews however Larry, Tom and Suburban deserve the most amazing review! Please do not be fooled by other companies. I called so many people today who could not give me an amount over the phone. If a company knows what they're doing they can. Larry knew exactly what I needed and gave me a price. Suburban is the most amazing locksmith company as well as honest and EXTREMELY reasonable!

When Tom was leaving I commented because he seemed so happy and I said Larry must be a good to him that he's so happy. Tom said that he's very happy with his job and his boss and is treated very well. Thank you all for a job well done! I pray many blessings to you all!

They quoted me $380 to replace an interior door lever set, which seemed outrageous to me. Purchased the exact same set online for $73 and had handyman install it for $45. Although I understand that businesses need to earn profits, this quote was opportunistic and way out of line.

Maybe it's just me, or maybe it's just my projects, but I have been in this facility on 4 separate occasions with 4 totally different key related issues and the answer has always been the same, "We don't do those here." Maybe the 5th time will be the charm.

Great customer service, keys always work first time cut. Never again will I EVER go anywhere else for my key needs. They charge less then hardware stores and the keys always work.

WILL S's review IS MY PROBLEM. YET THEY COULDNT RESOLVE MY PROBLEM. YET THEY DID FOR WILL S. SHAME ON THIS COMPANY. These people are unfriendly, too busy, and don't care enough to resolve an issue. Instead they'll just look at you like you're stupid and say welp sorry can't do it. When asking what's the policy behind it oh they just don't. Oh.? Really?

You 'just don't'? What a load of crap. Maybe If this was some ghetto I could see these rude people having good business. Terrible place. Old smelly. Like th people crusty and degraded.

Be careful that Suburban Door and Check Lock can help. I called ahead and gave all the details on the key that I needed. I wanted to make sure they could do the work before I drove out from Chicago. No luck. When I arrived, they told me no when I asked the same question. Not that they could try or that they were sorry they had given me incorrect information. I wish they had been truthful over the phone.

Friendly over the phone, friendly service when re-keying my locks, just overall great service and very affordable. I'll be using these guys for any of my future lock/door needs. I do have to give a "thank you" to the Home Depot guy in Darien who told me to get a re-key done instead of installing new locks. and then suggested Suburban to me. So thanks!

Suburban re-keyed my house over 25 years ago (recommended by a neighbor) and I have used them for replacement keys ever since. Used them at my workplace for many years as well for all sorts of lock and door check work. I just called for a problem with a lock at home and they gave me a suggestion to try on my own, before paying for a service call. It worked just fine. I trust and will continue to use Suburban Lock.

We had some new locks installed. We got a call at our appointment time that our installer was running late. They asked if it would be OK to reschedule for an hour or two later. We said yes. Dave, our installer, was polite and efficient. Their prices may be a tad high therefore 4 stars instead of 5. We had gone to another locksmith and gotten a quote and placed an order. But then they never showed up so we cancelled the order and went to Suburban.

Just got new locks for my new house and keys made. Everything was quick and easy and worked.don't you just hate bringing home a just made key only to find it doesn't work? Didn't have that problem here!
