We design and manufacture all of our products at our Marlborough, MA facility, thus ensuring enhanced quality control standards as well as providing flexibility to meet customer requests.
The Universal Window and Door 700 Series Historic Steel Replica windows are the ideal choice for historic buildings, featuring a narrow sightline that replicates the original putty glazed steel or wood windows to meet the exacting standards of historic commissions while keeping the structural integrity of the window intact.
Universal Window and Door has been providing historically accurate windows for architects and developers for the adaptive re-use of historic structures for nearly fifty years. Our 400 and 700 Series windows are designed to meet the exacting standards of the National Park Service National Register of Historic Places as well as numerous state and local historic preservation entities.
The Universal Window and Door Projected/Casement 600 Series windows are designed to move away, or "project" from the plane of the window frame (much like a door), and can be either in-swinging or out-swinging from the casement vents. Casement windows operate on a vertical axis while projected windows open and close horizontally (windows hinged at the top are referred to as awning windows, and ones hinged at the bottom are called hoppers). They may be opened and closed by hand or by use of a hand crank.
