Window Man

I purchased a home and needed a number of screens repaired and a few new ones made. They came out to my house, measured and diagrammed the house/windows, and took the screens back to their shop. They gave me a reasonable quote, and completed the work. There were a couple things that needed to be adjusted, and they were great with taking care of everything.

I was very pleased. They are extremely busy and sometimes it takes a while for them to get back to you. Be patient and give a follow-up call or email if you don't hear back in a few days. They have been around a long time and do great work, and are a local business and not a big chain store.

Windowman sent a repair technician out to my house within 20-30 minutes of calling then. I'm very pleased with how quickly they we're able to come by and fix the window. Just in time before my family comes to town for the holidays. Thank you again!

According to him he has too much work and doesn't need anymore. I was very patient, waiting almost two weeks just for an updated estimate (as I had already got one from him a few months back but he lost it) and then after I called him yet again he said he is too busy, to call someone else, and then hung up on me. TERRIBLE businessman and customer service. Attached is his response from my Facebook review which is identical to above ^ "Run your mouth" further demonstrates his level of unprofessionalism.

I had both older and newer windows/sliders that needed either mechanical work or glass replacement. They came out, inspected, and provided a very reasonable estimate. They came back and completed the work! They were professional, timely, and pricing was great! I would recommend them to all!

Had a channel balance break in a window and tried to order replacements online but it was such a hassle (had to submit 4-5 photos, measurements, etc. and they emailed me back 3 days later wanting even more info!) It took me less time to drive to Gainesville to see if Windowman had the right part than it did dealing with the online people.and within 5 minutes of me walking in the door they had already found the correct replacement parts :) The window is now fixed and it works great.

I called the number several times and kept getting hung up on. When someone did pick up they would say "call back" and then hang up. If I can ever actually get someone to speak to me maybe they will do a good job?

I have used Windowman on at least two occasions in the past and was pleased with the results. However, I have now twice submitted via their website email form a request for an estimate to replace two bathroom windows and have not been contacted. I find it unprofessional not to respond to request for services especially using the company's official contact system.

I don't care how good you are at your craft I will not do business with anyone who does not have the courtesy and professionalism to respond. Good for you if business is so good you can ignore customers, especially repeat customers. Things will not always be so good.

Please dont spend your hard earned money with these clowns. Fernando actually threatened me and sent very nasty texts. stay away! Please do yourself a favor and call Lowes. they are professional and they know what they are doing. Fernando is the worst ive ever seen in the construction industry and will ruin your project. i wish i could give less than 1 star

I simply contacted this company to let them know that their employees do not use their turn signals when driving down the road and then when you honk at them their employees turn around and flip you off. They assured me that she was sorry the person on the other end assured me that they were sorry as well because apparently I was on speaker phone.

Well they thought that they hung up on me and I can hear her say that I was the one that contacted them by name because apparently they use caller ID, and that they weren't sure if I was just screwing around because I might know the employees. Well let me tell you I don't know these employees and based on this experience I will never use this company.

My family purchased windows from Mr Fernandez for the home in Gainesville. We replaced close to 20 windows and we were more than pleased with the quality of the product and the workmanship of his crew. They were timely and cleaned up after themselves. We would highly recommend his service.

Fernando and his team do great work! We had them replace all the old windows in our in-law suite a few years back, and they did a wonderful job with high quality product at a good price -- and impressively fast and surprisingly tidy. Well, we finally got around to replacing some of the old single -pane windows in the main house, and once again, great professional job with thorough attention to every detail. Really transformed the place! Eliminated our noise and condensation problems. Always a pleasure to work with. Thank you, Window Man! Five enthusiastic stars!

I have used Windowman for years and have always had a great experience. He has installed new windows to doing repairs on my older ones. They also have a shop where you can get screens, glass, or mirrors and other window supplies.

I would never recommend this window repair company. The customer service was extremely poor and the actual window repair was even worse. I had 3 panes that needed to be repaired. I ended up with an additional 4 panes broken. $150 window repair job ($15 of which were supply costs) was performed so sloppy and outright wrong that now I have to find another company to come in and repair the damage and lack of repair that was initially done.

The gentlemen that was doing the repair did not use the correct sealant so now the window panes are loose and falling out. I have attempted to call multiple times to seek additional service to remedy his mistakes, and have yet to receive a call back. Consumer beware. Find any other company but this one.

All I have to say is that Tommy is the man! I had an exceptional experience using Windowman Amor. As a long-distance apartment manager who knows all too well that it is so hard to find good workers in Gainesville, Fernando and his crew really came through for me. Let me start by saying that I called at least a half a dozen window professionals and I was either told that they don't service the Gainesville area, they were booked up until next week or I just got no callback at all.

If you are looking for someone to repair a sliding glass door so that it will close correctly and smoothly, I highly recommend Windowman Amor! I am very satisfied with their work and, most importantly, my tenant feels safe and secure now that Tommy was able to rectify the door issue. I'm pretty patient, so I don't expect miracles. However, one of the Windowman technicians called me back and gave me an appointment for Friday between 1:30-2:30pm within 24 hours. Yea, you bet I took that appointment and scheduled it with my tenant to be available that day. Friday came and Tommy showed up even earlier than expected and he was able to fix the issue right away with a terrific attitude. Basically, the rollers on the sliding glass door just needed to be adjusted and that did the trick.

I couldn't be happier with their outstanding customer service! Windowman Amor has been added to my vendor rolodex to call and I would definitely use this company again for any of my window and sliding glass door repairs in the future. 5-Stars!

We had a large window replaced in Haile. Despite a little mix up in the in the initial appointment, they were here when indicated and were very professional. After bringing the window pane, the y installed very proficiently and very meticulous in clean up and follow up instruction. We had some misgiving after reading the previous Yelp reviews, but by tthen we were committed for the appointment. They might have improved their service after the earlier reviews. We had nothing but a great experience with them. They deserve a better rating.

Would not recommend.for windows or employment bad atmosphere fights.and in my opinion unprofessional.

After calling twice got an appointment for window repair on Thursday at 12.on Thursday at 2 I called to see why no one had shown up and was informed the person scheduled to be at my house had canceled all his appointment due to a personal issue. No one had called to tell me and no one offered me an apology when I called them to say I'd been waiting for two hours.

They said I'd need to call them back to reschedule the repair.which I did a week later. This time after explaining what had happened the previous week I was told they weren't scheduling any repair work because they had a couple of big install jobs. I asked if they could recommend a company that might be able to help me and they hung up. Have never seen such a poorly run business as this.

Wow! Sorry to see the bad reviews here about Windowman; our experience was just the opposite. We recently replaced 30 windows in our 25 year-old home we like a lot of air and light. Fernando came out punctually and sized up the situation and after hearing our needs/wants, made a few suggestions and showed us photos of a few options. We chose our windows which came in on time and were installed on time as promised.

The crew was amiable and helpful and cleaned up as they went. Fernando gave us the best price we could find. And the windows look fabulous! Low-e, vertical sliders in white vinyl frames.beautiful! And very easy/smooth to open and close. Couldn't be happier! I'd recommend them any day!

In good conscience, I cannot allow the 5 star votes to stand w/o sharing my experience. I used this business prior to moving into my current home. Was quoted a price over the phone to replace two broken window panes. Had her repeat the amount. I wrote it down. Was told someone would be out the next week. He arrived & installed the panes. Was billed MUCH more than quoted. Explained the situation and was basically told I had no proof; I was to pay the amount billed. "To add insult to injury, " the pane of glass specially ordered for my wood coffee table never arrived.

No calls even. I continued to call & leave messages. Still no response. One week turned into 4. When I finally received a return call thinking I could pick up the piece, I was told I could order it from another company. Four weeks wasted! I sent a handwritten letter to the owner about my dissatisfaction; it received no response.surprise surprise. You couldn't PAY me to use this company again! (The next spring we had all new windows installed; the $6,000 plus went to another company.)

Needed a window replaced after a rock hit it during lawn mowing. I called Golden Glass & Mirror first and they sent a guy out pretty quickly, but he couldn't give me an estimate and the office never called with one (3 weeks later, I STILL haven't received an estimate, despite calling to check in!). So, since I actually did need the window repaired, I called Windowman.

Their service was great - Fernando came out the same afternoon, measured the window, and gave me an estimate as well as an approximate time of how long it would take the replacement glass to come in. The glass came in the next week as he'd said it would, and two guys came out to do the replacement. They arrived on time, were very professional and even replaced the broken window in their truck to avoid getting any glass inside the house. The whole thing took probably 10 minutes, and I feel like their price was very fair.

Pretty unprofessional. The windows look like toilet seats and the guy behind them is moody and will drop you as a customer without reason.

At first the people here were helpful and timely. They came out within a day of the initial call to look at my broken window, they were even early for the appointed time. Then when they realized that I had a very custom window that would be difficult to install they suddenly were too busy for me. They called a week later with a rough over the phone estimate and said they would send me a written estimate by email that same night.

A week later having still not gotten the estimate I called them to see what was up. It just so happened the owner answered the phone. After realizing who I was he said "I know exactly who you are, I'm really busy, goodbye. " He is obviously not concerned about keeping me as a client if he can't apologize or give me the time of day to email or even talk on the phone.

I had this company, Windowman install six windows in my sunroom last month (July 2014). Fernando, the owner, was very informative and honest. He definitely knows what he is doing. The price was very reasonable (compared to what was quoted by a person from Home Depot). Everyone seems very efficient and professional. My husband and I both are quite happy about the quality of the windows and the job they performed. I highly recommend this company.

Called them to fix 2 windows that would not stay up. Was told it sounded like it needed replacement, we said ok. When they came, the said the windows just need re-tensioning of the springs. One month later when we tried to open the windows for the first time since repair, one of the windows is not staying up again. Called them to see if they could come out, was told that this would likely be free.

They did not call so contacted them a few days later and was told it would be at least $40 to do same thing or more if they decide it needed replacement. They were the ones who recommended just a re-tensioning the first time. Sounds like a scam to get at least 2 visits. How can it go from likely free to at least $40 to do the same thing? Spoke with owner, Fernando, and he dared us to file a complaint with BBB, Angies list, etc. Well here you go Fernando. You guys suck!

I worked extensively with Windowman five years ago. Fernando, the owner, was easy to work with from day one when he came to assess the 22 windows I needed replacing and provide a bid. He came out cheaper than the other local companies but was highly recommended by several friends. Since my job was so big, he spent a lot of time explaining my options and encouraged me to make a careful decision, steering me away from what would have been a more expensive decorative type of window (an impulsive decision I wanted to make) for one that was still pretty but worked much better for my house.

He even drove me around town to see samples of his work and explain options. The windows I got are double-glazed, energy efficient and great quality. The team that installed them were professional, courteous and efficient. When a window was unexpectedly broken by another work person a couple of months later, the team was very responsive and fixed it efficiently.

I recommend Fernando and team to friends and have not had one person say anything less than great things about this company. Excellent prices, very fair and honest, great work and professional service.
