Tempest aluminum windows are made differently than most other windows. Instead of one single extrusion, frame members are two separate extrusions with a rigid vinyl insulating connector in between to act as a thermal barrier. The inside and outside parts of the frame section are painted or anodized separately from one another to allow mixing and matching of finish colors and methods.
