Custom Doors & Entryways in San Diego
Founded in 2004 by Cesar Mendez and Colin Pearce, Grand Entrances revolutionized San Diego's custom door industry by creating Southern California's largest showroom featuring over 300 door styles. Our vision was to transform the customer experience by offering full-scale displays that allow clients to visualize doors in their natural setting rather than viewing flat samples or catalogs. We specialize in crafting distinctive entryways for luxury homes while making custom designs accessible to all homeowners through affordable pricing and complimentary design services. Our team works with premier manufacturers to deliver wrought iron, wood, and contemporary glass doors that combine artistic vision with architectural functionality. The business has grown to become a regional leader by maintaining its founding principle that 'a door is a cross between an architectural element and furniture' - a philosophy that guides our approach to every project. We curate an extensive selection of premium hardware from trusted brands, ensuring every door receives its perfect finishing touch. Our San Diego showroom provides hands-on experiences with materials, finishes, and design options, supported by knowledgeable staff who guide clients from inspiration to installation. We remain committed to innovation through energy efficiency upgrades and maintaining the highest standards of craftsmanship that have defined our reputation since opening.

Two words: Bespoke Design. After trying to plan a stunning front door myself, I realized it was time to call in the pro's. Cesar was extremely savvy with the design and offered a range of options. When I narrowed the general design down he provided several options on finish color, offered a range of options with respect to glass, materials, and assisted with hardware selection. I received my product 3 weeks ahead of schedule and installation was quickly / easily installed with Francisco.
I even changed my mind a few days into the order and they quickly corrected it and put the door back into production. Franscisco spent nearly 10 hours installing our front door that now looks like a piece of art. He was patient with all my questions and the end product looks flawless. The product quality and installation were so pretty I had my neighbors coming over to check out the final product.
Really happy I chose to budget the money rather than buy a stock front door. Grand Entrances provided me with a quality, service-based, detail-oriented experience. Will update the review with a final photo shortly.

One of my employees did some searching and recommended we stop here. Within 15 to 20 minutes Cesar was able to provide us a truly great value on custom hardware for our entry doors for our mansion renovation in Rancho Santa Fe. I'll be calling him on all our high end projects.

I cannot fully express my total experience with Grand Entrances. I am by myself and upgrading my home. I found a note in my husband's file "Grand Entrances". Well they are Totally Grand. The time and attention Cesar provided was awesome and from start to finish I was impressed. Even helped with the entrance lighting and selection of style and finish for the door hardware. Cesar knew that I wanted to retain the leaded glass inserts since my husband had created them and now they are more beautiful than ever in their new setting.
Even the installer Marko was a perfectionist. I feel that my solid walnut door is not just a door but an art piece. Thank you, Cesar and Grand Entrances. This is the first review I have ever written and your company and you deserve this. Mary Davis

Really bummed I have to write this bad review because they have beautiful doors. While browsing around with my mom and sister, the store associate Cesar said behind me "you guys are really loud". We we're not, and there was really no one else in there. His comment attached to his nasty look he apparently gave me behind my back left all three of us in a funk. Too bad, if we didn't feel like we needed to leave we may have gotten a door there. Oh well.
