Mike was born and raised in Anne Arundel County and has been working trades since he was a teenager. He spent over 20 years on commercial sites in DC and Baltimore before turning the residential side into a full-time business in 2006. He walks every estimate personally and runs material orders himself. If your roof has a question on it, Mike has probably already climbed it.
Tyler Heward
Co-Owner & Project Lead
Tyler grew up on Heward job sites. He was handing his dad shingles before he was tall enough to reach the ladder, and hes been on crews in some capacity ever since. He took over day-to-day project management so Mike could focus on estimates and material quality. Tyler is the one most customers hear from after the walk-through, through scheduling, through completion.

I highly recommend Heward Home Improvement!
Tyler, Mike, and crew have done many projects for us over the past several months. We had a list of items that needed repair or replacement on our house. Front door and sidelights, shutters, 45 windows, garbage disposal, and light fixtures were all replaced. Repairs consisted of leaky faucets, drywall areas, sliding glass door frame, and repainting front stoop columns. Our next project is a bathroom remodel.
Tyler and Mike have wonderful and timely communication. They really took their time to understand our needs and concerns and are always willing to answer questions and to consult.
They and their crew show great craftsmanship, as well. The areas of work are cleaned up at the end of the work day, most often they leave it cleaner than when they arrived.
We have already recommended them to neighbors and friends.

I can't even put into words just how phenomenal Heward Home Improvement was during our kitchen renovations. Their ideas saved my dream kitchen when the oven was going to fit under my cooktop,placement of microwave, and shaving tenths of inch off cabinet for dishwasher to fit.. These guys can do anything. Theyve helped me re-do my roof, my master bathroom, my living room, kitchen and even have helped with concrete work on my driveway.

These guys are a godsend! From repairing a spot where the ceiling leaked to installing an above range microwave (replacing the ancient one/getting it out without fanfare). Tyler measured, ordered the new microwave, they showed up when they said they would, did the install - totally seamless process. Did I mention they are very reasonable $$ also? I'm very happy with their work and I'd highly recommend Tyler & Mike and Heward Home Improvement for any home improvement needs!!

We had 3 projects done by Heward Home Improvement and all were above and beyond our expectations! The attention to detail is like no other contractor weve ever worked with. Our projects included:
- renovated 2 sets of interior stairs, replacing carpet with hardwood
- replaced old ceramic tile with LVP in 3 bathrooms, a foyer, and a laundry room
- replaced dated tile backsplash in the kitchen
Its a game changer having one contractor who can do many different types of projects so that we dont have to work with multiple contractors and coordinate schedules. They are also very courteous and ensure the area is cleaned up at the end of the day, minimizing disruptions.
I trust HHI completely and wouldnt use anyone else for our home projects!
