Questions
What areas do you service?
We primarily serve New England, with a focus on Massachusetts. For properties outside our service area, we recommend contacting the Window Preservation Alliance for local options.
Do you handle both residential and commercial projects?
Yes, we work with both homeowners and commercial property owners to restore windows while maintaining architectural integrity and improving functionality for all building types.
Is window restoration more cost-effective than replacement?
In most cases, yes. Our restoration services typically cost less than full replacements while preserving historic value and allowing for targeted repairs rather than complete window replacement.
What's involved in a full window restoration?
Full restoration includes complete disassembly, paint stripping, repair of damaged components, glass replacement, and reassembly with weather-stripping. Windows typically stay in our workshop 8-12 weeks for thorough restoration.
Do you offer emergency window repair services?
While we don't provide 24/7 emergency services, we prioritize urgent repair requests and offer temporary solutions for weatherproofing while scheduling permanent repairs during regular business hours.

Always responds promptly and courteously to any question I may have. Lots of helpful advice online to assist me in restoring my 100 year old windows on my own. I look forward to the day when in person sessions are available again and will surely make the trip from Texas to attend.

Alison and the crew never dissapoint! I've used Window Woman of New England for several jobs now and will continue to do so in the future. The latest job was a custom transom window for a re-designed doorway. The window was perfect, and constructed with traditional methods and period glass. I couldn't be happier! Highly recommend!

I stopped by the workshop to learn about my options for repairing a shattered window. I chose to get my sash repaired by the shop and the staff gave me a tutorial about how to uninstall and reinstall the sash, including reattaching weights and sash cords. I also attended a free open house where I learned how to replace cracked glass and was able to successfully complete another project independently at home. I can't thank them enough for teaching me how to restore and care for my old home.
